Syngoniums are a climbing vine like plants from the aroid family. Similar in some ways to Philodendrons they are known for usually have smaller hastate sometime colorful foliage that once mature changes into a more compound looking leaf. While changing from the smaller more foliage to the more segmented adult leaves they often lose most of their coloring. Some do not segment but just grow larger. While others may have silver markings and even velvet texture to the foliage. They make excellent house plants and are usually easy to grow and propagate. They also usually have white sap which can help identify them when compared to other climbing aroids.
