Description
Aspidistra lurida ginga is one of the commonly called cast iron plant. A tough and showy plant with long strap like leaves held upright usually 1 to 3 feet tall and 3 to 4 inches wide. Each leaf is covered in small specks of white dots. It is a tough plant and I recently seen some very impressive mature clumps 3 tall that were unlike any I had seen before. It is a much more showy plant than I had thought. Flowers are held at the base and rarely noticed. However they are very hardy handling regular cold spells and surviving zone 7 and even colder if in a protected area.
