Description

Musa ingens has been the thing of dreams for me to grow. Back in the early 90s I contacted/(Bugged to death) David Constantine a botanist working on the Musa/Banana group of plants. He had a few photos of Musa ingens he shared with me and later put up on the web. These photos where the first time I had seen this amazing species of banana. The photo showed Giant monster banana plants growing over the canopy in high altitude jungles. Musa ingens is known for being the worlds largest growing Banana and it’s size in the wild is amazing. Reaching a height of around 45 feet tall in it’s native home of Papua New Guinea. The base of the banana trunk can be huge 3 to 4 feet across. Now Musa ingens is unlike most other banana plants that like it hot these grow up high in the mountains and tend to like cool nights and warm days. So to say exactly how these will do in your area is going to be a gamble. I think if your able to grow a tree fern the banana will probably do well for you. For people in the north like me it is worth a try. If you order you will receive 3 fresh seed. I recommend soaking the seed in water for 3 to 5 days change the water every day if needed. After soaking place in soil keep warm. Note the shipping is not adjusted for these seeds. One item shipping is 9.50 and each additional item 2.50 including the seeds. Thanks
