Philodendrons are a larger group of plants in the aroid family. All are native to South America. Most Philodendrons are known as climbers which use their unique roots to attach to trees and then grow upwards for more light. Their are also a few species that crawl along on the ground. Most Philodendrons are known as foliage plants and most have very similar looking flowers. The foliage however can be very different ranging in different colors, sizes, textures, and shapes. All Philodendrons prefer warm tropical weather and many do well as house plants.
